How Does the FDIC Work?
The norm for all bank failures has been to make depositors whole in, you know, any case possible. In this case specifically, not only are depositors being made whole, but it to me it reads is that the FDIC believes that it can sell Silicon Valley bank and has chosen to make depositor whole in advance of selling it because they were worried about risk of contagion.
