Subtitles for the Deaf

There are a lot of guidelines especially for accessibility subtitles. You've got to make your sentences that you're putting up on the screen or half sentences phrases and so on they've got to fit the frames haven't they. I can imagine that in French Italian German as the War of Spanish there are words and phrases in those languages which would be regarded as blasphemous cursing swearing. So how do you handle that? Do you use asterisk do you use dashes or do you go right there full on with well we no need to cite them because we've got guidelines here on the BBC radio but just give us a sense of how you handle that  because it's all quite delicate.
