The key is that it's about what's happening right now, sampling the moment here and now. The alerting system has to do with being vigilant regarding our present moment kind of experience. This notion of attention is not so much about narrowing or even broadening but this is a more complex way of orienting. It's based on our goals. So i'm goin to approach the situation with what is my goal right now? You know, is my goal to have fulfilling conversation? Or is to actualy look at the corps behind you?
