The Importance of Respectability in Parenting
A lot of the mixed people I work with have, you know, like these intersecting identities to around like immigration and so on and so forth. And they carry these stories around kind of like respectability, right? Respectability politics meaning this idea that black people, indigenous people of color should be presentable,. Should stay in their place. So is that something that you also work with or like explore a lot with your practice? Yeah, absolutely.
