Insight can be positive or negative, says John Sutter. He explains how a small business owner dramatized the problem to get people to sign up for his retirement plan. A facilitator didn't tell villagers about diseases they could catch from open defication; he showed them what it was like to not use latrines. The idea is to shock the truth out of people by showing them their own problems and then help them find solutions themselves.
