I was always a kind of a very serious child. I think in Auschwitz, I had those inner resources and function better,. Not waiting something to happen outside. A lot of people actually sort of skip childhood. For many reasons. Sometimes parents want us to be in charge. Sometimes they want us to study geography while maybe we want to play football. And if that person or that thing doesn't come, then life is unfair. So it's better to say what? What? What do I want now?"
