The hormone melatonin are we generate melatonin, I believe it's through our pineal gland. And this is the brain chemical that keeps us asleep at night. If you are not getting 15 minutes a day or more of direct sunlight, your body's not going to generate enough melatonin to keep you sleep at night. Often we don't get out into nature, we don't work in our car, we don’t get out into the sun,. So that's why I strongly recommend exercising when you can and seeing if you're having trouble falling asleep as well.
