The Concept of Sin and Cos Waves
Most of the waves that we actually find in nature and that we want to describe a sinusoidal in shape. So they essentially look like that sin and cosgraphic talk about or at least could be described in those terms. Amplitude just refers to the distance between the mean value of whatever is oscillating. The full distance from the top to the bottom is twice the amplitude.
