The goal is to be mindful, focused during a situation when you normally feel anxious. So we want to develop a mindful capacity of being in the present. And the meditation can be helpful with that. Meditation alone is not an effective treatment for social anxiety. Because you are in you are focusing on your own experience,. and in social anxiety, what we want to do is figure out how to be present.
