The Direct Practice of Effortless Mindfulness

The two first realizations that can happen from standard mindfulness practice is I am not my thoughts. Then the ability to step back in a calmer time certainly at first is often easier to see Oh, that thought, I don't like what's going on. This person should do that. And then if we're able to step back or up or out or ask for some space, find a view, which here is the consciousness move. So it's not a philosophical understanding. It's a little more like meditational process though it interacts with the psyche or psychology and we'll explore that today.
