The Selfless Nature of Consciousness

When we look at the sense fears in this very careful way, it becomes so clear that consciousness is just arising out of this conjunction of causes. Does this seem clear? I mean, you'll have to go and practice it, but it's very revealing about the selfless nature of consciousness. One of the phrases that Moon Indraji, my first Dharma teacher used so often, and it helped me. He would say empty phenomena rolling on this whole mind body process is justempty phenomena rolling on. There's no eye, there's no self. No one behind it all to whom it's happening. We become much less identified with the whole play of passing phenomena. And we can do this
