When it comes to asking for a raise, you'd better bring some data with you. You can't just whine and say, i deserve it. What does your request cost your boss in social capital? What does this mean? So any time bosses give people raises, it's like cutting off their little toe, right? The money has to come from somewhere. And so the more you can think about money is thi zero, some resource that will cost them something.
