[RE-UPLOAD] Decolonization is Not a Metaphor - Tuck & Yang

Red Menace

CHAPTER

A Critical Approach to Human Rights in Third World Decolonization

Tuck and yang point out how radical projects to re imagine human social relations are often thought of as exempt from indigenous decolonial critique. They dvance what they call an ethic of incommensurability, which seeks to highlight what is distinct between decolonization projects in relation to social justice projects. More broadly, on third world de colonizations, the anti colonial turn towards the trans national can sometimes involve ignoring the settler colonial context where one resides. This deliberate not seeing is morally convenient, but it avoids an important feature of the selective collapsability of settler colonial nation states.
