CHAPTER

The Effects of Balanced Solutions on Mortality in Critical Eopations

The only trial that eopositive results, let's say from a traditional fragmented framework, is this smart trial where there was patients in clusters where they were receiving balanced solutions. They had a lower incidence of the composite endpoint of mortality, use of kidney replacement therapy, or doubling of creatinine. The other trials, they all provided no results or neutral results for mortality. But under a Bayesian framework, we could say that there was a high probability of benefit around 90% probability that balanced solutions decreased in mortality over all critical eopations, including septic patients.
