The Last Battle of the Rhine

Moreau was well aware that he needed to beat it back to france before charles could swing down from the north and cut him off. After one last battle at schlingen on october 20 fourth, moreau and his army got back across the rhine. When he did, all the various little sieges the french had set up with the austrians pushed so far back were abandoned. The decisive battle in the north finally came at wurtzburg on september third.
