How to Rehydrate Salt Packs

How do you rehydrate a salt pack? You have to rinse them and change the water several times like bakala, or everyone's cooking bakala all the time. Most of the time when I cook with saltfish, salt cod now, I use the thin stuff and it can be soaked really quickly. It's only like Christmas Eve time that I get the thick stuff that takes days and days to reconstitute. And we've just got a bunch of fantastic guests coming on.
