How to Earn a Legacy Spot at Ironman
The legacy program was introduced three or four years ago by Andrew Messick in response to the number of athletes who said that they loyally competed at Ironman races year after year. And so, recognizing that some of these people were hugely important to Ironman as a customer base, I think Ironman decided to do something about it. Once you've done your 12, you can apply to be on the legacy program. If you'd just done your 12th, you could apply probably in October, November this year. You might not get in for 2019, but you probably get in for 2020.
