The jobs to be done style interviews focus on the change that customers are trying to make in their own lives. These gain good traction for good reason, I think, because it does such a good job of focusing on the change they're trying to make. It frames up their focus broadly enough that it isn't so narrowly tactical and it still allows product teams to be very outcome-focused.
