Should You Burp After a Meal?

In certain middle eastern countries, burping after a meal is supposed to be the opposite. But it doesn't in the west, does it? i believe that's the theory behind it,. Be very interested to hear from anybody who isn't a culture in which burping, b u r p to burp, is that accepted in social situations. If anyone's listening, and they do burp regularly to show appreciation for the food, please tell us which country you're in where it is acceptable.
