There's an interaction between osteoblasts activity and macrophages, which are immune cells. I wanted to see if perhaps certain compounds with prunes influenced the inflammatory cytokines secreted by some of these macrophages. And essentially the mechanisms that I was looking at, to now doesn't seem to be like the reason why. But we have definitely seen that over a six and 12 month period, just 50 to 100 grams of prunes, which is like five to 10 prunes per day, can help attenuate bone loss after the age of 50 in particular.
