Sicklings and Hemolysis in Sickle Cell Disease
Sicklings can lead to two major outcomes. One, vasoclusion from sickled cells blocking micro vasculature. Two, homolysis, because those r b c membranes aren't that flexible enough to live through constant sickling and unsickling. And at the same time we often have this threshold totransfuse for any hemoglobin that we see less than seven. That's just indothe reality of how we practise medicine for the most part.
