Dr. Ira Byuck has helped grow the field of palliative and hospice care in the U.S. He's come to see dying potentially as a developmental stage for many people, including loved ones. The term "dying well" doesn't really sit easily in 21st century vocabularies or imaginations For me, there are two things that were going on. One was this remarkable love story between an elderly woman with cancer and her husband who had been together for several years. And it was this image of them sort of beaming into each other's eyes.
