A scaled product, or business that has thousands of customers at different regions and sophisticated on line marketing can get to some sense of attribution. I think there's just more room in those types of business than when you try to bring that model into your own firm. The sheer volume of the deal flow covers up any errors. And this is where the sales attribution issue becomes a problem. You're incentivising the wrong behavior.
