Is Acceptance Really Important When Learning to Get Over Anxiety Disorders?
Acceptance is a very confusing word because many people with OCD think that and this was me too in the past I really struggled with this in the past. By acceptance you're not saying that you believe the thoughts or that you believe in them or that you think they're true or you're doing is you're making a little bit of space for them to be there as you said. If we don't do that the opposite is pushing pushing those thoughts away and obviously we know that when you try to suppress thoughts or push them away unfortunately they just end up coming back twice as strong, she says.
