The Importance of Resilience
When we get traumatized by something, it's almost as if the experience is not integrated into who we are. We don't believe that we'll be able to handle it with more equanimity and strength in the future. And so we just get triggered by this pain, this fear that we experienced in the past. So there are a couple of different ways to combat negative thoughts - embracing them is a great starting point.
