A dog biting event does not have to traumatize you. All harmful events traumatize the brain, he says. Good care in the immediate wake of a potentially traumatizing event allows your brain to make sense of the story and become integrated. A disconnected, fragmented brain is a traumatized brain; a connected, integrated brain is a healed brain.
