The Eight Limbs of Yoga
Yoga is a holistic framework for approaching life in a way that reduces our suffering, enhances our joy and ultimately connects us to our core essence. So yamas translates into restraint, social behavior, ethics. There are guidelines for how we engage with others, but like all generative philosophical ideas, they are to be applied within. These limbs may be practiced sequentially, and it is logical to do so. But they also operate synergistically, heilistically. And once we integrate all of them, they act as a cohesive framework for removing that which does not serve in our lives.
