I'm curious how this desire to either play with a wink or to get out of the game. I think it can sound from when you're actually in the game deep, deep, deep that you're being arrogant or higher than everybody else. In my experience, it's actually kind of a fragility. You said that like you broke. Yeah, I can't. Everybody's playing this game that I'm afraid to play. That's the thing comedy is a good vehicle towards because comedy is constantly deconstructing things and breaking things down. So at a certain point, you see some comedians feeling like Carlin really wanted to opt out of it.
