A lot of stuff that we know and act on relies on anecdote. For example, someone gets cancer, like what's the likelihood that they're going to live or die? You don't do that in a randomized controlled trial. A single anecdote shows you something really important. Like anyone who claims that they rely on randomized controlled trials for most of the things that they do, I challenge you to sit down and make an objective analysis of that.
