Anxiety is a muscle. It develops in the mind and it's no different than if you were in a car crash or if you're in the foothills of Colorado and you see a mountain lion, right? Like your body is going to react physiologically in a fear-based way to being threatened. We know that there's plenty of anxiety that can go into preloading a hard session. So I always start with trying to educate on the building blocks of anxiety. And there are three things that occur that build anxiety,. both in and out of sport. The deeper we tie our outcome performance to who we are as individuals, the deeper the potential threat.
