Ruling class liberals also have their version summed up today in the democratic party's weaponization of identity politics. They seek not to see the interconnections between these processes, but to de-link racism from the machinations of capitalism and imperialism so as to preserve the latter two. It is yet another example of what Malcolm X called the wolf and the fox. The reactionary wolf is hamfisted and violent, brutal and explicit. The liberal fox however is clever and disguises itself as a friend of its prey. Both seek the same ends, the maintenance of the status quo and their relatively high position within its hierarchies of race, class and power.
