The Importance of Long-Term Athletic Development
For long-term development, I try to think of it as almost a series of waves. So, each race can be a peak of a wave and we don't want to drop off too far. It's important to think about your commitments to training and also the relationship that you have with your coach. Sometimes it can be tempting to maybe save some money and not pay your coach or to have a break in an off season. That's certainly understandable, but also it's a time for learning as well. You can fine-tune some of your weaknesses.
