In my coaching, I hear a lot of this opposite thing of designers getting kind of pushed down into the assembly line. Service design is an activity that a multi-disciplinary team do rather than a particular craft as such or a role. One of the fundamental things about service design is to understand that services unfold over time and across channels. And you only need one or two of those to break and the whole thing starts to fall apart.
