The Importance of Hydration in Ultramarathons
In an ultra marathon context, I really do think that hydration needs to lead calories. You have to figure out your hydration plan first because a certain amount of your caloric budget is going to be taken up with whatever hydration source you're using. If it gets hot, you're going to take in a little bit less when it gets cold. Maybe you can take in more when the intensity goes down. Those are subtle shifts. One on the other side has, you know, can can fold over two or maybe even three times from one extreme to the other.
