CHAPTER

The Three Pillars of Trust

In order to win someone else's trust, you have to have these three things on your side: authenticity, logic, and empathy. If we sniff out that you're largely self-interested, as opposed to interested for the people that you're talking to, that makes the difference between whether or not I'll trust you. So if you're on my side, if you empathetically get what I'm going through, you really get my perspective. And the other two right, people will trust you. It just accelerates everything else you want to do.
