Mozart's Thesis - The Snaking Line
i'm going to try something new this week and jump around a bit in the symphony. Now we are in g major, but with a snaking line that doesn't seem to be going anywhere at all. It also certainly isn't very singable. What is mozart doing here? Well, i'm going to take you to the third movement, the minuet. This is just a crammatic scale down, followed by slightly more open harmonies to get back up.
