The Difference Between Fluid Challenge and Fluid Bolus

critically ill patients primarily receive IV fluids in one of four forms or maybe more than one. Fluid challenge, fluid bolus, maintenance, or replacement fluid can be given as part of ICU care. Excessive use of fluid maintenance and other infusions for delusions and total parental nutrition etc. can quickly lead to fluid accumulation.
