Is It So Important to Sleep?

There's current debate right now as to how exactly we should be sleeping naturalistically. We currently, intead of industrialized nations, commonly sleep in what i would call a monophasic pattern. There is argument that we perhaps should be sleeping by, physically, a somewhat long bout during the night and then an afternoon nap like mediterranean behavior. The way that we develop tiredness and sleepinessor one of the ways, at least we know, is that the longer that you're awake, the more that a chemical builds up in your brain that forces it to go to sleep.
