Socrates refers to philosophy here as a she. He is not going to engage in a dialogue with just anybody and everybody, just because he loves conversations so much. I have a sort of higher mission here that I'm not going to let somebody just confobulate simply because I happen to have feelings for them. The relationship that he had even with the person he loved was different. And so, you know, underlying this, he's saying, my nature is different from yours. I have, well, it turns out,you know, self control.
