When should you go all the way to failure if at all? I think it just depends a lot on the individual, how good they are at feeling the mind muscle connection and what failure means for that individual person. And also it just depends on the lift as well. With like single joint armwork, I don't know why you wouldn't train to failure just because like gives you a bigger pump and it's fun. Do two extra reps of skull crushers isn't going to dramatically impact your weekly training volume. Those two extra reps on deadlifts might really cost you.
