The internal control fallacy is the belief that a person has complete control over themselves and their surroundings. This belief assumes you're responsible for the pain and happiness of those around you. A should statement, this distortion are statements like you must do, you should do, or you shouldn't do. Often these are very subconscious things and a dialogue you're continuously having with yourself.
