Is There an Ideal Longer Taper?
The general envelope that people deal with is usually about one to three weeks. Two weeks might be for a year long or a season ending goal at two week taper is probably pretty typical. But it kind of depends on how you define the taper because let's say you're talking about a marathon. You don't start necessarily reducing your volume until closer.
