Sales leaders are notorious for asking for more bodies than they actually need because they want to be able to protect their downside, obviously. So at its simplest level, you're looking at the overall company goals for the year and trying to fill folks that can ramp up to selling at full pace. And think thoughtfully about when you need to hire people to accommodate that particular ramp up.
