An increase in dopamine is our body's natural way to create desire. When pain is decreased, my dopamine goes up. We stop at whatever is going to get the pain to decrease because we're afraid of more pain and less dopamine. But on the other side of that is the deepest reward - ask anyone in the kink community. The amount of pleasure you're able to feel when you go into a dominant, submissive archetype or when you infuse pain and pleasure are so prolific. There's a reason it's so powerful.
