I can track hoyd a little bit to the fool to kinglear, even though hoyd started as a character about a year before that. The value we want is kids loving literature and digging deep. Does not have to be ys the same. I would much rather read a really good american novel. And i don't hate scarlet letter, to be fair. Going back and even reading something from the late seventies, early eighties, which i was common reading when i was young.
