How to Plan for a 100 Mile Run
"I like to build a spreadsheet. I'm an engineer, you know," he says of his race-day plans. "It becomes layers upon layers upon layers of different things you have to kind of plan out." The longer the distance goes, it's more about limiting variables and making sure that athletes are prepared for what they're going to do on their own at mile 70 or so. But we always have to factor in the idea that you have to go back, like you said, mental to the box.
