If there is to be action that is truly ordered to a goal, intellect has to play a role too. To order a thing toward a goal requires grasping the goal,. In this particular goal, the nature or being of a thing is grasped only by intellect. You can see and imagine a cow, but how do you know whether what you see or imagine is a cow? Well, you know it by comparing it with what it is to be a cow. That is what the concept of cow expresses. Either eyesight or imagination make concepts, only intellect does. The conservation and being of their cons are their natures.
