There really is a difference between what wewould call affective feelings and emotions like anger and sadness and fear. More control means, sometimes what more control means is setting up the situation to reduce stress. Sometimes it means just doing the best you can with what you have. Every one can always do something to have a little more control over their emotions. We're wired for our sense data to be very vague. And there's a good reason for that - i forget which philosopher spoke about tragic embodiment.
