How to Predict Methylation in a Genome

In order to create one of these estimators you're doing usually a DNA methylation assay, so you take some blood. The DNA methylation assays use something called an array technology that is originally used for genotyping. You can see the particular location in the genome and infer whether or not it has been methylated.
