The Effects of Ice Baths on Muscle Growth and Hypertrophy
We know what's happening within the muscle, but we're still a little bit unclear as to what's happening in terms of performance. So no studies connecting regular ice baths with an increase in endurance and endurance performance. And one other common belief about the benefit of ice baths is that they helped to improve recovery by reducing inflammation. There was no difference between the two groups. It would seem that perhaps size baths are working differently to how people traditionally expect.
